ARIEL Academy FAQ’s

Q: Where can I find ARIEL Academy?

A: You can go directly to the ARIEL Academy website: https://learning.pedaids.org/home/

You can access ARIEL Academy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and from any computer, work, home or while on the road.

Q: I am having technical difficulties.  What should I do?

A:  Click on “Contact Us” on the top right of the home page. This will email Leigh Jenkins (ljenkins@pedaids.org).

Q: I can’t find my username or password?

A: Your username is your EGPAF email address.

If you need to find your password, please click on the Log On tab on the top right of the screen. Underneath the Username and Password boxes, please click Reset My Password. You will be prompted to enter your email and your username (both are your EGPAF email addresses). Upon entering this information, your new password will be sent to your email. Please note it is sensitive to punctuation. If you have a hyphenated name, or if it contains an apostrophe please include it.

Q: How do I enroll in an ARIEL Academy course?

A: To enroll, go to the ARIEL Academy homepage.  You must first log in before being able to view the course catalog. From the ARIEL Academy homepage, click Log On and enter your username and password. Once you have logged on you will be able to view the course catalog by clicking on the Learning Center button on the top of your screen then click Catalog Search. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish enrollment. You will be automatically enrolled.

As with any learning or training opportunity, employees should consult with their manager about the course offered.  For example, if you want to take an online class on PowerPoint, talk with your manager and let them know that you are interested in taking this class and why.

Q: What is EGPAF’s study policy?

A: If you and your manger determine that you would benefit from an ARIEL Academy course, then you should try to build this time into your daily work hours.  Schedule it on your Outlook calendar and let your teammates know you will be unavailable during that time.

Q: How long does a course take?

A: Most courses take between 1-2 hours to complete.  In a sequence of courses, the length of each course usually gets longer the further along you are in the sequence.

Q: Once enrolled, how do I take my course?

A: From the ARIEL Academy homepage, click on the Log On tab on the left hand side of the page.  If it is your first time, use the username and password provided to you by the administrator. If you have made edits to your profile, use your most recent username and password.

Q: Once I start a course, do I have to finish right away?

A: No.  You can start and stop a course at anytime and then log back in to finish at another time; you do not have to finish the course in one sitting.  However, make sure you have saved your work by clicking Exit in the toolbar at the bottom of your screen; do not just close it out. When you log back in to finish, it should start right where you left off.

Q: How long can I take to complete a course?

A: We recommend that courses be completed within 3 months of registration.  You can continue to access your course once it has been completed.  In most cases, the materials can also be saved or printed for further reference.

Q: Are there any pre-requisites to taking courses?

A: No. You may take any course listed in our course catalog in any order.

Q: Will I receive a certificate for completing a course?

A: Some ARIEL Academy courses have certificates that will automatically generate when you’ve completed a course, however not all courses have this capability. However, all our country offices have the ability to create a certificate of completion for a course – see your HR Partner in country if you’d like a certificate for a completed course.

Q: Is the course material available in Portuguese or French?

A: There are currently a few courses available in French and Portuguese; these courses are marked with a (FR) for French and (PT) for Portuguese.

Q: Are courses available on CD?

A: No, not at this time. All courses that were purchased as part of the Foundation’s e-Learning platform cannot be downloaded. However, any courses/content that the Foundation creates can be downloaded onto a CD.

Q: I accidentally enrolled in a course that I am not interested in.  What should I do?

A: Email Leigh Jenkins at ljenkins@pedaids.org, and she will remove you from the course.  Withdrawing from a course prior to beginning the course will not count against you in any way.

Q: Will ARIEL Academy replace the Tuition Assistance Program?

A: No, ARIEL Academy will not replace the Tuition Assistance Program. This is an additional program by which employees can continue to develop their professional skills.

Q: Who do I contact if I have questions, comments or suggestions?

A: You can contact Leigh Jenkins at ljenkins@pedaids.org.
